about me
I’m a trail runner and spend a good deal of time in the hills and mountains of the Ribble Valley, Lake District and Yorkshire. I have a passion for multi-day, long distance adventures. I am particularly interested in the idea of movement through a long distance process and the positive effects this can have on the body and mind to support a more creative, intuitive response to working through difficulties.
My background is in safeguarding and I have specialised for the past thirteen years in the prevention of child exploitation. As part of a specialist, multi-agency team, I have worked intensively with children and their families experiencing trauma caused by child sexual and criminal exploitation. I also provide specialist training to professionals in local authorities and external agencies raising awareness of these issues. Throughout my career, I have developed a trauma-informed, creative, interactive approach in my work that focuses on the mind-body-nature connection to empower and build resilience.
